I liked it because it always continues with a cute little kitten who tries and run away from his uncle Ebony. He wants to kill him so he sends his spies out to do that for him and he can get heir to the throne. In every story flame appears and it talks. He asks a girl to help him by hiding him and protecting him. The worst part for the girl - she has to keep flame a secret and cannot even tell her best friend or parents. He is so magical that he an help with the house chores. He understands every word that people say. When it is time for him to leave, it is the hardest part because the girl gets quite upset but the girl knows that he has to go. The kitten always enjoys his time with those girls. His true form is just tremendous.I just love FLAME!!!he is so CUTE!!!!
Note: Two more of this series are due to be published in 2008.

This story is set in New Zealand and supposed to be based on fact.
It makes you feel happy in some parts and sad in others.
The main character is a 12-year-old girl called Lizzie.
She lives a tough life; working when she is crippled, having to look after six younger siblings, her youngest brother dies and her mother has a breakdown.
I think this book would appeal to students about the age of 12-15 years, who like books that are both worrying and inspiring.

This book is very exciting and it has valuable life lessons to be learnt throughout such as moving on from the past and family skills. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good novel.

Face It by Denis MartinReviewed by Janie MacDonald
In a few sentences?
My pulse was racing, my lungs clamouring for air while I fought to breathe quietly. At every step I expected a shout of discovery and my body was tensed, waiting for a bullet.
Face It by Denis Martin, is different. I didn’t think this type of book would get me hooked so quickly – but it did. It’s about three teenagers – two boys and one girl. Trapped on an isolated Marlborough Sounds island, Greg, Libby and Lawrence find themselves running away from a mysterious enemy. As more enemies arrive at the island, the trio end up in shooting sprees and in emotional situations. With a hint of romance for the girls – and military guns for the boys – Face It is one book that you just have to read.

I must say that I really enjoyed this classic book. A twisting tale of a yong womans' life, beginning when she was around ten and ending when she was in her late teens. An amazing book and I reccomend it for anyone who enjoys old-fashions tales, as it is set in the 19th century.

one of my favourite books i've read is Elsewhere. It is a quirky book based on the afterlife. It is cleverly written in a way that keeps you gripped right the way through to the end. The book tells the story of a young girl called liz who's life is tragically cut short at the age of sixteen in a road traffic accident. It shows you her anguish as she sees her friends and family members moving on without her.
i would definatly recommend this book other readers as it is very interseting and i assure you will not read another book like it !

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne Reviewed by Sarah
I'm going to repeat what is said in the blurb- if I told you what this book was about it would ruin the storyline. All I can say is that it is about a 9-year-old boy called Bruno(though it is not a book for nine year olds) and in the book Bruno encounters a fence. The blurb also says 'I hope you will never have to encounter such a fence' and I agree with him. I really enjoyed this book and it lingered in my mind for quite some time. I really reccomend this book to any teen who is searching for a good read.

The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne FrankReviewed by Sarah
Well I haven't actually finished this book yet, but I've read enough to be able to write a good review. This book is set in an abandoned warehouse in Amsterdam, where the Frank family fled to escape from The Nazis and their leader, Adolf Hitler.
In the next two years Anne Frank writes about the frustration of living in such confined quarters for so long, the food and the everyday fear of being captured. This diary remains the one most touching and true stories to emerge from WW2. I loved this book and it has made me appreciate the Jews even more for what they went through in the concentration camps and in hiding in those horrible years. I REALLY enjoyed this book and I hope others will too.

The Ellie Chronicles - While I Live by John MarsdenReviewed by Kate
This book is the first in a follow on series from the Tomorrow series. Filled to the brim with the perfect balance of action, romance and thoughtfulness just like all of John Marsden's other books, Ellie is looking forward to a normal life after the war, settling down with her parents and brother. One morning, tragedy strikes. Ellie's struggle to keep the farm after the disaster is recorded in this book. Also, what could Homer be meaning by leaving Ellie mysterious newspaper articles? Does Ellie really want to get mixed up with a group of kids attacking over the border?
A great read, absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. Be sure to read Incurable and Circle Of Flight as well, the next books in the series. I would definately recommend this bokk to anyone and I think it would capture the attention of anyone, not just one particular target market. So I strongly recommend that you get this book out during your next visit to a library.
PS It helps if you have read the Tomorrow series beforehand, it makes it a little easier to understand.

The Dead of the Night by John MarsdenReviewed by Sarah
This book is the sequal to Tomorrow when the War Began. Just as good. Athough if I hadn't have read the first book I wouldn't understand it.
Ellie and her friends; Lee, Corrie, Homer, Fi, Chris and Kevin are on a quest to save their town. In Wirrawe, things are mostly quiet, and you know everyone as it is so small. These teenagers can't do too much to help save their town without getting shot. Well that is what the army seems to think anyway.
Incredibly hard to explain. It deffinately has to be read by you to be able to understand.

These are a great series of books with all of them growing up over time but with different things happening in every book. To read the books properley and to understand you need to read these books in order. which there are only four books.i thouroughly enjoyed all of these books. before you read the last one i suggest that you see the movie but i also think you should be a little older as what happens in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd book are so tame compared to the fourth. The girls have well and truly grown up by the time you've read all of them.
I thouroughly enjoyed all of these books and recommend them to any sort of girl who wants a good read. but i do believe that you should be at least 13 maybe to read the fourth or get your parents approval first.

Twilight is a great vampire book for people who don't like vampires. I'm not one of those people who really enjoy the horror genre but this book was an exception. Twilight is about a girl called Bella who starts at a new school in Forks. She attracts the stares of Edwrad Cullen who looks at her as if he hates her, but without a reason why. This book is definitely one of my favourites, and is one of the only books I know that has a sequel (New Moon) as good as it's precedent. I highly reccomend this book to all and I hope you love Twilight as much as I do. 10/10
