Fav song of the moment:
Anything Eagles.
Favourite Shakespeare quote:
If music be the food of love, play on,
Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.
How did you get into Shakespeare?
First experience acting was an after school drama class sat the Court Theatre
but I got into Shakespeare through English and Drama.
Did acting help you come out of your shell or have you always been a
performer?
Definitely shy when I was younger and still can be on occasion,
but this year more than any other has helped to give me more confidence.
What's been the Shakespeare experience for you - how did young people
around the country react to the performances?
I felt that we were really well received especially by the smaller community schools that can be overlooked by companies that require a minimum audience size.
Touring means you have to spend a lot of time with the rest of the cast
and crew - what were some of the best bits of touring?
The best bits were while we were: working: set ups and performances. Relaxing: having a good laugh...
And the worst?
Travel, sometimes hour after hour of sitting and swaying in the van especially ‘round the various ranges in NZ where it was hard for the passengers let alone the driver that van definitely isn’t my favourite way to travel
Are you aiming for a professional arts / acting / entertainment career?
Would be nice though for the most part I am realistic.
Looking back on your amazing adventure, what will your lasting memory be?
The sense of achievement when we had what felt like 50 children coming up and
wanting our autographs, knowing that potentially we’ve changed their lives.
Any shout outs and thank yous?
Thanks to all the school that invited us without whom this company would have been a bust, and to Rob our director who started all of this and without whom I may not have seen drama through.
