Sumner Time & Time Again, Sumner Mall

Make a day of it and head down toward Sumner Mall to browse one of the best little op-shops in the world, have lunch or coffee and meander along the beach, swim or surf. Sounds like a perfect day for sure.

Maree HoroYou're not seeing double. There are two Time & Time Agains in Christchurch - with this one owned and operated by Maree Horo. It's what you might call a sister act with Vicky and Maree (who really are sisters) originally starting out together in one shop before each of them branched out to their own premises.

The Sumner Time & Time Again is cram-packed with goodies and has a wonderful atmosphere that's accumulated over the 14 years that Maree's been there. It's very informal and friendly and a constant stream of people seem to wander in and out to browse, chat, try on or buy and sell.

OutsideIt's a veritable feast of label clothing, shoes, hats, a glass counter (plus stands) full of jewellery, outfits for larger sizes, ball gowns, street wear, guys stuff, kiddies clothes, - and, like the other store, there's a permanent rack of half pricing sale items outside. The day I visited there were two racks - which meant double the amount of bargains - talk about bees to a honey pot. There seemed to be interested buyers all over the place.

So if you've got good quality label gear you want to hock off, Maree works on a 50/50 commission basis - you get half and she gets half and she'll try selling it for up to 3 months.

Our verdict: Simply deeeeevine!!!
